Tips for making a crappy morning a fabulous day.

Good morning! How has your morning kicked off?

I confess, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

For reasons I am not sure of, I was up and down throughout the night. The alarm went off multiple times beginning at 5:30 a.m., and I laid there through multiple snooze buttons considering my options of pulling the covers over my head or getting up and facing the day.

I chose the latter. I had to. I have employees, prospects, partners, and clients counting on it. I also have several business meetings and deadlines to show up for before the day ends.

Waking up on the wrong side of the bed is not an option; productivity and success is

As business owners, an unproductive day could be the difference between successfully closing the deal, meeting that deadline or even completing a big task and not making payroll this month or eating.  Truly.

However, the reality is, we all have nights of restless sleep that causes us to wake up to headaches or exhaustion, agitation or stress.

Therefore, it is critical there is immediate acknowledgment of our state of being and shifting out of it as quickly as possible. Again, our employees, partners, vendors, and clients are counting on us!

RICH Tips for making a crappy morning a fabulous day.

– Make a commitment to NOT hit the snooze button, not even once.

– When the alarm rings, let your body, mind and spirit go quiet as you remain there in bed.

– Starting slowly from your toes to your head, including your heart, mind and spirit as well, assess your feelings, emotions, thoughts, words and physical body. Are they fatigued or alert, are they tired or energetic? Will they be working in your favor through the day or against you?

– Remaining there, work to shift your feelings, emotions, thoughts, words and movement to a place of positivity, optimism, attentiveness, excitement, energy and clarity.

  • Move your toes, legs, arms and neck.
  • Sing a song, say a prayer, repeat your favorite affirmation (s).
  • Visualize the type of day you want and the results you will achieve before days end.

– Remain there as long as you need to until you have shifted into a state of being that will turn this crappy morning into a fabulous day.

When I really need a kick in the butt to get out of a mood or attitude I am in, I recall a quote from Norman Vincent Peale’sThe Power of Positive Thinking” – “A person who is self-reliant, positive, optimistic, and undertakes his work with the assurance of success magnetizes his condition.” Author not disclosed.

The next time your alarm clock goes off and you want to pull the blankets back over your head, take a few minutes to identify how you can magnetize your day to attract happiness, joy, fun, momentum, and RICHES!!!  You will thank yourself at the end of the day for doing so, I promise!
