Do you know what you want in your business, career and life? You have 16 Days left to decide…

Specifically; can you see it, feel it, smell it?

Do you have goals clearly defined that are just for YOU, not your family, friends, business, etc., but for you?

Do you have those things written down?

If you said NO to any of the above, do not worry. You are not alone. Whether I am speaking to large groups or small, it usually goes like this:

  • 70% of the room has goals25% of those 70% have them written down
    • 75% of those goals are business versus personal life goals
  • 10% of that 25% actually act on them on a regular basis with the expectation of achieving those goals

Very few people have both defined goals for themselves AND actually act on them. But what’s wrong with that?

Well, when I then ask the room how many of them have achieved ‘success’ – no matter how they individually define it (which we will cover tomorrow), less than a third of the room raise their hand. LESS THAN A THIRD!

For me, that is not only unacceptable but sad. When they or even you wake up in the morning, what are you setting out into the world to achieve or even strive toward? Without goals or targets for achievement, what are you working so hard for (in all aspects of your life)?

Being a business coach and consultant, my job is to ensure my clients have personal and professional goals AND that they act on them, so they can achieve the RICHES they want for their career, business, life, family, and self.

Now, it is your turn…. If you do not have goals, no problem; stay with me for the next 15 days leading up to the New Year and you WILL have your goals defined. Stay with me long term and you will have various programs and ways you can continue to work and execute on those goals.  I will provide you tools, tips and advice that will help you along the way.

To get started…. You need to discover what it is you want…. What you REALLY want!!!

Here’s how:

–       Find and schedule 30 minutes in your day

–       Locate a quiet place where you will be undisturbed

  • Many of my clients work best at the park (me too), in the library, at a Starbucks or Coffee shop (despite the noise), over a glass of wine, etc.
  • It doesn’t matter – the devoted time to YOUR goals is what is important

–       With a pen and journal or notepad in hand, answer and/or write out the following – leaving space between each one for additional notes:

What do you really want to achieve this coming New Year ?

  1. Detail it out and make is specific, i.e. I want to earn $100,000, I want to be promoted to Manager of Department X, I want to be in a committed relationship, I want to travel in May to Australia for a 2 week vacation, etc…
  2. Look at the various areas of your life:
    1. Business
    2. Career
    3. Finances (savings, income, revenue, etc.)
    4. Relationships
    5. Spirituality
    6. Health and Fitness
    7. Etc.

2.            Once you have written those out…..  go back and review each of them and answer the question WHY do I want to achieve this goal…..

A. Write out your response to each one underneath the Goal you wrote out

3.           Go back and review your Goals and Why’s – did the goals stand up to your WHY?

  • If so, GREAT, keep it on your list
  • If it did not, continue discovering WHY you wrote it… OR delete it if it is not TRULY what you want

CONGRATULATIONS… you have discovered what is important to you and what you really want.

Tomorrow we will address your definition for SUCCESS and how that applies to your PRIORITY for achieving each of your goals defined.
